AAP Candidates List: CM Atishi to Contest from Kalkaji, Kejriwal to Fight from New Delhi; 38 Names Announced in Final List

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday released its fourth and final list of candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections. This list includes 38 candidates, including several prominent leaders.

Arvind Kejriwal is once again contesting from the New Delhi seat. Meanwhile, two constituencies have seen changes in candidates. In Kasturba Nagar, the current MLA Madan Lal has been replaced by Ramesh Pehalwan, who recently joined AAP from BJP. Similarly, in Uttam Nagar, the party has replaced the sitting MLA Naresh Balyan with his wife, Posh Balyan.

The party has also fielded five candidates from the Muslim community and given tickets to 10 women candidates, accounting for 15% representation. With this, AAP has finalized candidates for all 70 seats. In its first list, the party had announced 11 candidates, followed by 20 in the second list, and one in the third.

Prominent names include Atishi, who will contest from the Kalkaji seat, and Amanatullah Khan, who has been fielded from Okhla. Somnath Bharti will contest from Malviya Nagar, while Saurabh Bharadwaj is the candidate for Greater Kailash. Minister Gopal Rai is contesting from Babarpur, and Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar. Satyendra Kumar Jain will stand from Shakur Basti, Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat from Sultanpur Majra, Raghuvinder Shaukeen from Nangloi Jat, and Som Dutt from Sadar Bazar.

Kejriwal Targets BJP as AAP Releases Final List

After Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its final list of candidates, Arvind Kejriwal took to social media platform X to take a jab at BJP. He wrote:
“Today, AAP has declared candidates for all 70 seats. The party is fully prepared and confident about the elections. Meanwhile, BJP is nowhere to be seen. They have no chief ministerial face, no team, no planning, and no vision for Delhi. Their only slogan, their only strategy, and their only mission is – ‘Remove Kejriwal.’

He added,
Ask them what they have done in the last five years, and their answer is – ‘We insulted Kejriwal a lot.'”

Highlighting his party’s work, Kejriwal further wrote:
AAP has a clear vision for the development of Delhi, solid plans, and a capable team of educated individuals to implement them. We have a long list of accomplishments over the past 10 years. Delhiites will vote for those who deliver results, not those who spread negativity.”
